The Design sisters – Diane Hine and Lynda Holt have been busy making houses beautiful from Sydney, Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast. Their most recent project was converting a New Farm studio apartment from shabby to chic. Last week, I went around for a sneak peak before the property hits the market. Here is what this dynamic duo had to say…
What do The Design Sisters strive for?
We try to make our places and the spaces around us as beautiful as possible and that is what we strive to accomplish for our clients. Whether it is event styling, home styling or house staging for sale we just work together to make sure the space is as beautiful as it can be.
Tell us a bit about your current project
We have just finished giving a very tired studio apartment in new farm Brisbane a much-needed facelift. With new floors and lights, painting and some fabulous styling - it's almost unrecognizable! We used pieces that we both already had. 20-year-old Barcelona chairs, a candelabra that we bought at a garage sale years ago, sisal rugs and home wares that we have picked up over the past few years. We love the finished outcome...and now someone else can too as it's just been put on the market for sale!
What’s next on the agenda?
What's next... in Sydney we are working on a Hampton inspired federation house in Drummoyne and also a unit in Ultimo that needs some serious love and attention. We are also working on a beach house that is on the Sunshine Coast. All very exciting projects!! Follow us on instagram to keep up with our up and coming work @thedesignsisters
